As both an advocate for adoption and as someone whose life has been personally touched by adoption, I am very happy to announce my involvement in the national organization, Celelbrating Adoption (www.celebratingadoption.org). This wonderful program was launched earlier this year and is gaining recognition as a wonderful way to give back to parents who choose to adopt.
I had a chance yesterday afternoon to photograph this beautiful little girl. Thank you to her mom for coming all the way from Eugene for this special session!
One of the most touching testimonials that I’ve ever received was written by a Celebrating Adoption mom. I’d like to share it with you as a way of explaining just how their lives were touched by this organization:
As the parent of an adopted child I have many photos that show A’s natural physical beauty. Her smooth chocolate colored skin and ample curly locks are all a direct reflection of her birth parents. However, your pictures revealed somthing deeper than just her outer appearance. You captured her spirit . . . the essence of our daughter! Your images reflected her wit, sense of humor, and inquisitiveness . . . in these photographs we were able to see a glimpse of ourselves. Isn’t that just beautiful???? Here she is thanking ME, when in all reality, I should be thanking HER for opening their hearts and lives to this wonderful baby!
I do only accept a limited amount of clients each month and generally book 4 to 6 weeks out for all sessions. Celebrating Adoption sessions are no different. With that in mind, please remember that these special sessions are limited so families need to call ahead and expect to schedule several weeks in advance.
