. . . growing. Getting older. Losing the chubby cheeks. 

On the other hand, the wonderful memories in a non-smiling image is that (at least in my opinion) you might get a tiny glimpse of what a child might look like as an adult. Yes, we all might agree that time is zipping by entirely too quickly, but don’t you think it’s kind of neat when you look at a portrait and can see dad’s face or mom’s smiling eyes and get an image in your mind of who a child might become?
